The company Kran Saller GmbH from Deggendorf, Bavaria, Germany, recently erected five wind turbines in five weeks at a wind farm in Dagebüll, near the Danish border.
The LTM 1750-9.1 that Saller had received at the Liebherr plant in Ehingen in the summer of 2014 had already stood out several times for its high power and efficiency in erecting wind turbines. A few weeks ago, the 9-axle mobile crane travelled from Bavaria to North Frisia to a wind farm in Dagebüll. There, in just five weeks, it erected five wind turbines from the manufacturer Senvion, each with an output of 3.4 MW. Seven components had to be assembled on each installation. The heaviest load was the rotor star with a net weight of 61 tonnes, which had to be installed at a hub height of 80 metres. The LTM 1750-9.1 lifted this load to a hook height of 90 metres with a radius of 20.5 metres. In addition, the crane was equipped with telescopic-boom bracing, a 15-metre V2 telescopic-boom extension and a 35-metre jib, as well as 144 tonnes of ballast.
